Amanda Wilner was born in Philadelphia in 1970, grew up in Washington, DC, and now lives and works in Corvallis, MT. She has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Design, has trained at the New York Studio School and holds a Masters of Fine Arts from Utah State University.

Amanda has received the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation Grant, The Larry Elsner Sculpture Scholarship and was awarded best of drawing and best of sculpture while attending the New York Studio School.

From 2000 to 2006, Amanda was a lecturer of art and design at The University of Michigan among other institutions. Since moving west in 2009, Amanda’s work has been shown in the Missoula Art Museum, the Yellowstone Art Museum and in galleries and art fairs across the country.

“I love the materials of art making. I use drawing, printmaking, acrylic, oils and encaustic materials, often in combination, to play and convey my visual statement. I feel satisfied when I have combined a modern abstract approach with traditional painting or drawing techniques.” - Amanda
